Enugu Rangers continued their impressive run in the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a 4–2 home victory over Wolves on Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium. Striker Godwin Obaje set the tone early, scoring twice within the first 12 minutes to give Rangers a commanding lead. Although Israel Oladeji pulled one back for Wolves in the 56th minute, midfielder Chimobi Igwilo restored the two-goal advantage with strikes in the 71st and 76th minutes. A late penalty by Seth Mayi was merely a consolation for Wolves. The win lifted Rangers into the top four with 36 points, overtaking Ikorodu City.
Meanwhile, at Umuahia Township Stadium, Nasarawa United produced a stunning comeback to defeat Abia Warriors 2–1, handing the hosts their first home loss of the season. Chukwuemeka Obioma initially gave Abia the lead in the 42nd minute, but Nasarawa hit back immediately after the break, with Habibu Alakija equalising in the 47th minute and JoFrank Istifanus completing the turnaround in the 55th. The victory moved Nasarawa United into second place on 38 points, three behind league leaders Rivers United.
Elsewhere, Shooting Stars edged Bendel Insurance 1–0 in Ibadan thanks to Qamar Adegoke’s 71st-minute goal, ending the Oluyole Warriors’ nine-game unbeaten streak and pushing 3SC into sixth place with 35 points. El-Kanemi Warriors secured a late 89th-minute win over Ikorodu City via Muktar Ismail, while Barau and Bayelsa United played to a 1–1 draw. Tornadoes defeated Enyimba 2–0, and Wikki Tourists beat Kano Pillars 2–0.
At the bottom, defending champions Remo Stars remain in 16th place, struggling away from home due to sanctions restricting their return to Ikenne. They face Kun Khalifat on Monday in a crucial fixture to improve their precarious standing.
