Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has taken a significant step to ensure transparency in the compensation process for landowners affected by the recent acquisition of land for the first segment of the Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja Circular Road. By forming a dedicated monitoring team, Governor Makinde aims to verify and supervise the distribution of compensation, underscoring his administration’s commitment to accountability and fairness.
The creation of this team was announced in a letter signed on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo. According to the letter, the team will be led by CP Sunday Odukoya (rtd), the Governor’s Executive Assistant on Security. Mr. S.O.A. Olatunde, the Deputy Director of Administration and Supplies at the Governor’s Office, will serve as the committee‘s secretary. The committee also includes several other prominent members: Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism; Mrs. Bosede Sodiq, Senior Special Assistant on Broadcast Media; Mr. A.O. Kolapo, Director of Administration and Supplies at the Governor’s Office; as well as representatives from the Bureau of Public Procurement and the Project Monitoring Agency.
The Ladoja Circular Road project, named in honor of Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, is a significant infrastructure initiative designed to enhance transportation efficiency and support economic development in the state. Governor Makinde’s proactive approach to monitoring the compensation process reflects his commitment to equitable governance, prioritizing both infrastructural progress and the welfare of Oyo State’s citizens.
