Controversial singer Darlington Okoye, widely known as Speed Darlington, has announced that his recent arrest will serve as a source of for his upcoming songs. In a lively social livestream, Darlington expressed his excitement about the new topics he to in his music, stating, “ out for my new music. I have looking for topics to sing about. Darlington’s troubles began on October 4 when Burna Boy filed a petition against him, alleging defamation and cyberstalking. The petition stemmed from a Darlington posted, insinuating that Burna Boy’s association with embattled American Sean Combs, better known as Diddy, suggested they might have had a sexual relationship. This claim gained further attention following Diddy’s recent arrest by the FBI on of sexual exploitation and abuse.

After enduring four days in custody, Darlington was released on October 8, 2024, following pleas from and his mother. His lawyer, Stan Alieke, released a statement addressing the shortly after the arrest. He explained that the video in question was intended as comedic content and not meant to defame or malign Burna Boy. “Our client, who many have come to know as a ‘joy-giver,’ made the video purely for laughs and for its value, with no intention to malign or defame,” Alieke .
