The Ekiti State Amotekun Corps has made a grim discovery, uncovering the remains of two young girls in the bush of Aramoko-Ekiti during recent search operations. The shocking revelation was made in a press statement issued by Officer Adeleye Abiodun Adewale, the Head of the Communications Department for the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps.
According to the statement, the victims, identified as Taiwo (age withheld) and 18-year-old Fatoki Seun, were reportedly murdered by a 29-year-old suspect named Ogunnike Philip, originally from Ogun State. The remains of Taiwo were located at Egbewa Street, behind an uncompleted building, while Fatoki Seun’s body was found on Oke-Oja Street in the same town.
The operatives of the Ekiti West Local Government Command highlighted the disturbing condition of the remains, noting that their long decay had led to significant air pollution in the vicinity, with the bodies being heavily infested with maggots.
In response to the situation, Health and Environmental Officers in Aramoko-Ekiti have been deployed to manage the site. They have since collected the remains and transported them to the General Hospital of Aramoko for further examination.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns over safety and the need for enhanced measures to protect citizens, particularly vulnerable young individuals. The Amotekun Corps is expected to continue its investigations, aiming to ensure justice for the victims and prevent such tragedies in the future.
