National security advisers from 14 European Union countries and Canada met in Kyiv to discuss a comprehensive peace plan, focusing on a framework agreement that includes security guarantees, reconstruction, and economic recovery for Ukraine. Zelenskyy expressed appreciation for the ongoing support from international partners during Russia’s invasion, emphasizing the importance of this new wave of diplomatic engagement.
Looking forward, a meeting of the “Coalition of the Willing”—a group of European nations and allies—is scheduled for January 6 in Paris. The summit aims to solidify international backing for Ukraine and review the outcomes of the recent discussions among security advisers. In a strategic move, Zelenskyy appointed General Kyrylo Budanov, head of military intelligence, as his new chief of staff, aiming to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities amid ongoing peace talks.
