The new centre, located in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, will focus on key future technologies and regional priorities including energy transition and cyber resilience.

The announcement was made at the 2026 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, where officials highlighted the importance of collaboration between governments, industry and experts to responsibly advance emerging technologies. The India hub will work with local and international partners to develop practical policy frameworks, pilot projects and scalable solutions in areas such as renewable energy systems and cybersecurity strategies. Leaders said the centre will also foster knowledge sharing and workforce development to help India harness the benefits of frontier technologies.

Forum officials described the expansion as part of a growing effort to shape how artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and other advanced technologies are integrated into public and private sectors globally. The initiative reflects India’s rising influence in global technology debates and its strategic role in accelerating inclusive innovation.
