The World Economic Forum announced today that it will establish a new Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in India as part of a broader expansion of its global network of innovation hubs. The new centre, located in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, will focus on key future technologies and regional priorities including energy transition and cyber resilience. 
The announcement was made at the 2026 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, where officials highlighted the importance of collaboration between governments, industry and experts to responsibly advance emerging technologies. The new India centre is one of five new Fourth Industrial Revolution Centres the Forum plans to launch worldwide, with other centres announced for France, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. 
The India hub will work with local and international partners to develop practical policy frameworks, pilot projects and scalable solutions in areas such as renewable energy systems and cybersecurity strategies. Leaders said the centre will also foster knowledge sharing and workforce development to help India harness the benefits of frontier technologies. 
Forum officials described the expansion as part of a growing effort to shape how artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and other advanced technologies are integrated into public and private sectors globally. The initiative reflects India’s rising influence in global technology debates and its strategic role in accelerating inclusive innovation.
