Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Nyesom Wike, has issued a stern ultimatum to the Coordinator of the Satellite Towns Development Department STDD, Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, threatening immediate dismissal over unevacuated refuse heaps across several FCT towns.

During a Friday inspection covering Karshi, Bwari, and Kubwa, Wike was displeased at the sight of a massive refuse dump along the Orozo-Karshi road. He warned that any failure to comply with performance standards by Monday would result in termination of those responsible.

The minister emphasized that infrastructure development and environmental sanitation must go hand in hand, stressing that neglect in refuse management cannot be tolerated. Wike also expressed satisfaction with ongoing road projects, including the long-delayed Apo-Karshi road, now re-awarded to SCC Construction Company, and the 17-kilometre Bwari-Kubwa road, scheduled for completion by May 3, 2026. Landscaping and environmental improvements are also set to conclude by the end of the year.
