Whatsapp Revives Short 24‑Hour “About” Notes

WhatsApp is bringing back short text updates by reintroducing the old style of About notes. Years ago, users wrote simple text statuses. That feature later became the About section. Now WhatsApp has updated it again with a fresh design.

The new About notes let users post short messages that vanish after 24 hours. These notes are meant to tell contacts about your mood or availability without sharing photos or videos. They are useful when you want to show that you are busy or not available to chat.

Over 600 African faith leaders call for reparations from the Gates Foundation for ecological and social damage from industrial agriculture.

A key change is that About notes will be pinned to the top of one‑to‑one chats and shown clearly on user profiles. People can react to someone’s About note, and the note will automatically disappear after 24 hours, like Instagram notes. Users can also remove a note sooner if they wish.

Users can limit who sees your notes by choosing specific contacts. WhatsApp says the feature is rolling out worldwide and should reach users in the coming days.
