Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is about to make history on Tuesday night when his team faces Monaco in the Champions League group stage.

Osimhen has played in three of Galatasaray’s five Champions League games this season and scored six goals, which is the highest number of goals by any player in the competition so far.

The Turkish champions have won every match Osimhen has played in, but lost the two games he missed due to injury.

After scoring twice against Bodo/Glimt, Osimhen now holds the record for the most consecutive European games with goals for Galatasaray, scoring in seven straight matches.

At 26 years old, he is also the Nigerian footballer with the most goals in the UEFA Champions League, having surpassed Obafemi Martins’ record during a game against Liverpool.

If Osimhen scores against Monaco, he could break the record held by Shabani Nonda and Milan Baros, who each scored 12 goals in European competitions.

This upcoming match could see Osimhen further cement his place in Champions League history with Galatasaray.
