Uncertainty Surrounds Bobrisky After Arrest by Nigerian Immigration Service

The fate of popular cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, known widely as Bobrisky, remains unclear following his arrest by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme Border on Monday. The NIS Public Relations Officer, Deputy Controller of Immigration Kenneth Udo, confirmed that Bobrisky was detained as a “person of interest” by the authorities, but further details regarding his situation have not been made available.

Since his arrest, Bobrisky has been undergoing interrogation, though there has been no official confirmation on whether he will be taken to court or released once his health improves. After a thorough review, the panel found no evidence to support these claims, dismissing the allegations while acknowledging that Bobrisky enjoyed certain privileges during his imprisonment.
