Uncertainty Surrounds Bobrisky After Arrest by Nigerian Immigration Service

The fate of popular cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, known widely as Bobrisky, remains unclear following his arrest by of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme on Monday. The NIS Public Relations Officer, Controller of Immigration Kenneth Udo, confirmed that Bobrisky detained as a “person of ” by the , but further details regarding his situation have not been made available.

Since his arrest, Bobrisky has been undergoing interrogation, though there has been no official confirmation on whether he will be taken to or released once his health improves. Reports suggest that his condition worsened , and he was subsequently taken to an undisclosed hospital for medical after experiencing a rise in temperature.

A source within the NIS, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, stated that Bobrisky developed symptoms that necessitated his transfer to a hospital for treatment. However, as of the time of this report, efforts to obtain additional information from NIS spokesperson Udo were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to or messages.

The situation has sparked widespread speculation, as a panel by the Federal Government recently submitted its findings to the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. The panel, chaired by the Permanent of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, was tasked with investigating allegations that Bobrisky did not serve the full six-month jail previously handed down to him. After a thorough review, the panel found no evidence to these claims, dismissing the allegations while acknowledging that Bobrisky enjoyed certain privileges during his imprisonment.

Despite the panel’s conclusions, Bobrisky’s legal troubles have continued. His arrest by immigration officials reportedly stems from an attempt to flee the country, further questions about his legal and future. For now, he remains in the custody of the Nigeria Immigration Service, with no clear indication of what will happen next.

The public and his supporters await further information on Bobrisky’s fate as authorities remain tight-lipped on the investigation.
