Russian forces has launched one of the most intense aerial bombardments on Kyiv in recent months, they stuck at residential neighborhoods and critical energy facilities. The attack left at least six people dead and dozens injured, including a pregnant woman.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the strike as a “deliberate and calculated” attempt to inflict maximum damage on civilians and infrastructure. According to Zelenskyy, the offensive involved 430 drones and 18 missiles, overwhelming air defenses and triggering widespread destruction.

The city’s military administration reported extensive damage across nearly every district. Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s military command, noted that high-rise buildings were hit in multiple areas, with emergency crews working through the night to rescue trapped residents and extinguish fires.

Authorities confirmed that 30 residential buildings across nine districts were affected, and temporary heating outages occurred in Desnyansky and Podil. Mayor Vitali Klitschko assured residents that emergency services restored heat by morning, though public transport remained disrupted, with delays in bus and tram services.

Ukrainian forces responded with tracer fire and anti-missile systems to intercept incoming drones, but the scale of the attack overwhelmed defenses. The strike also damaged a school, a medical facility, and administrative buildings.

This latest escalation comes in the midst of growing international pressure on Moscow, as Kyiv’s Western allies intensify diplomatic and military support for Ukraine. The attack underscores the ongoing vulnerability of civilian areas and the urgent need for enhanced defense capabilities.
