UAE Arrests Over 100 for Spreading Misinformation During Middle East War

Police in Abu Dhabi have arrested more than 100 individuals for filming sensitive locations and sharing misleading information online amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.

In a statement released on Friday Abu Dhabi Police confirmed the arrest of 109 people of different nationalities who recorded incidents and circulated inaccurate content across social media platforms during the crisis. Authorities said the actions of those arrested could incite public unrest and spread false narratives within the community.

The crackdown follows heightened tensions in the region triggered by military strikes involving the United States and Israel against Iran. Officials in the United Arab Emirates have moved swiftly to control the flow of unverified information particularly content related to security incidents and s.

The UAE Attorney General has also ordered the arrest of at least 35 individuals accused of publishing misleading reports filming restricted areas and promoting narratives supportive of hostile entities and their leadership. Authorities stressed that such actions pose risks to national security and public ility.

Similar enforcement measures are being seen across other Gulf countries. In Qatar more than 300 people have reportedly been arrested for sharing images and information described as inaccurate or misleading. Bahrain and Kuwait have also implemented strict controls on social media activity linked to the conflict.

The Gulf region has been significantly affected by Iran’s retaliatory actions which have targeted both military and civilian infrastructure including oil and gas facilities airports and residential zones. Governments across the region continue to urge residents to rely on official sources for information and to avoid spreading unverified content online.
