United States President Donald Trump on Tuesday declared that it was too late for Iran to seek negotiations with Washington, despite indications from Tehran that it was open to dialogue.

In a post shared on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated that Iran’s key military structures had been severely weakened. According to him, the country’s air defense system, air force, navy and leadership had been effectively neutralised. He added that although Iran now wants to talk, he had made it clear that the window for discussions had closed.

“Their air defense, Air Force, Navy, and Leadership is gone. They want to talk. I said Too Late!” Trump wrote.
The remarks come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following joint bombardments reportedly carried out by Israeli and United States forces targeting Iranian assets. The situation has heightened fears of a broader regional conflict, with global powers closely monitoring developments.

Just two days earlier, Trump had suggested that he was open to talks with Iran, raising hopes of possible diplomatic engagement. However, his latest comments signal a shift in tone and suggest a more hardline stance toward Tehran.

Observers say the back and forth highlights the fragile and rapidly evolving nature of geopolitical relations in the region. Analysts warn that the absence of dialogue could further inflame tensions and complicate efforts to restore stability.

As events continue to unfold, the international community is urging restraint and renewed diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
