President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced the appointment of leading figures in American technology to his Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, PCAST. The roster includes Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder of Meta, and Sergey Brin.
The council will be co-chaired by AI and crypto expert David Sacks and former US Chief Technology Officer Michael Kratsios. Other appointees include tech entrepreneur Larry Ellison, investor and Silicon Valley figure Marc Andreessen, and Jensen Huang.
Zuckerberg expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, stating that the United States has the opportunity to lead the world in artificial intelligence and that he is honoured to work with fellow industry leaders to make this vision a reality. The appointments signal a focus on AI, crypto, and advanced technology as key areas for national innovation and leadership.
The creation of this high-profile advisory body comes as the Trump administration seeks to strengthen ties with major tech innovators while guiding national policy in emerging technologies.
