Recalling the early days of the Junior Eagles, now known as the Nigeria U20 national team, former teammates have shared emotional memories of a player whose brilliance lit up the pitch.

Formed around 1978 and 1979, the squad consisted of young schoolboys drawn from institutions like St Finbarr’s Secondary School, Metropolitan Secondary School Onitsha, Igbobi College, and Edo College. Among them were notable names like Stephen Keshi, Bright Omokaro, Humphery Edobor, and Prince Afejekwu. These players grew together, bonded by passion and ambition.

Henry stood out even from the very beginning. During early screenings conducted by coach Rojenovic under Father Tiko, his exceptional ability became instantly clear. With just a few touches of the ball, he displayed a level of s that set him apart. His dribbling ability, close control, and eye for goal drew comparisons to modern greats like Lionel Messi. He thrived in tight spaces, maneuvering past defenders with ease and executing acrobatic volleys that left spectators in awe.
