Transcorp Hotels Plc has announced a robust financial performance, posting N97 billion in revenue for the 2025 financial year, representing a 38 percent increase over the previous year.
At the 12th annual general meeting in Abuja, Chairman Awele Elumelu said the company entered 2026 on a solid footing following a successful year. “For Transcorp Hotels Plc, 2025 was actually a good year. We ended the year with revenue of N97 billion, a 38 percent increase on the preceding year,” she said.
Elumelu highlighted the company’s strong dividend payout, noting shareholders received N1.30 per share as the final dividend. She credited the performance to shareholder support, effective management, operational efficiency, and strong corporate governance.
The company also focused on brand strength and diversifying its offerings. In 2025, Transcorp Event Center, a multifunctional facility with a 5,000-person capacity, was launched, hosting major events including the Afrexim event. Digital technology and customer service improvements also contributed to growth.
Managing Director Uzoamaka Oshogwe reported a total dividend payout of about N13 billion and noted that occupancy rates had picked up to nearly full capacity since mid-January. She emphasized sustainability efforts through partnerships with Transcorp Power and Transcorp Energy, implementing dual gas burners and exploring renewable energy solutions.
Looking ahead, the company plans to expand into Lagos, invest in infrastructure and technology, and focus on operational excellence and brand relevance.
Transcorp Hotels also reported a profit before tax of N22.613 billion for the year ending December 31 2024, a 138 percent year-on-year growth. Despite rising energy costs, gross profit margin remained strong at 70.89 percent, with room sales performing best at 84.5 percent margin. Total assets rose 11.58 percent to N140.696 billion, while borrowings fell 22.12 percent, strengthening the company’s financial position.
