Toyin Abraham Honoured by NFVCB for Crossing One Billion Naira at Box Office

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has been honoured by the National Film and Video Censors Board NFVCB with a recognition award for her box office achievement. The award celebrates her milestone of grossing over one billion naira with her debut directorial project, Oversabi Aunty.

Sharing the moment on her X (formerly Twitter) page, Abraham described the recognition as a “huge honor” and expressed deep appreciation for being acknowledged by such a reputable organisation.

The award presentation event was graced by Olori Temitope Enitan Ogunwusi, who praised Oversabi Aunty for inspiring reflections on parenting and family life. Abraham noted that the film is a “wake up call for families, especially mothers, to realise that raising a child requires patience and understanding beyond shouting or reacting dramatically.”

The actress also thanked her supporters and partners, including FilmOne, acknowledging the crucial role they played in achieving the historic milestone. She dedicated the award to her fans, affectionately called Toyintitans, saying, “I see you and I love you all. This is the first of many.”

Oversabi Aunty has crossed the ₦1 billion mark at the box office, becoming the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time and solidifying Abraham’s status as a leading filmmaker in the industry.
