China leads the world with approximately 841 ships, thanks to the rapid expansion of the People’s Liberation Army Navy. This growth reflects years of aggressive shipbuilding, making it the largest navy in terms of fleet size.
Russia ranks second with around 747 vessels. While many are smaller ships, the Russian Navy remains a formidable force, particularly due to its advanced submarine fleet.
The United States Navy comes third with about 465 ships. Despite fewer vessels, it dominates globally in tonnage and capability, operating the most powerful fleet, including 11 aircraft carriers.
