President Bola Tinubu has named Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as the first-ever Renewed Hope Ambassador, a strategic role designed to drive national outreach and mobilization efforts ahead of the Federal Government’s upcoming Ward Development Programme.

The announcement was made in a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. In addition to his ambassadorial duties, Uzodinma will serve as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation, working closely with the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and fellow governors.

As the current Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Uzodinma is expected to lead a coordinated campaign to promote the Tinubu administration’s policies and achievements, ensuring alignment and inclusivity across all tiers of the party. His fellow APC governors will also serve as “Ambassadors of Hope,” collectively tasked with amplifying the administration’s message.

President Tinubu emphasized the importance of public awareness, urging Uzodinma to ensure that citizens are well-informed about the government’s progress since taking office in May 2023. The administration’s reform agenda, according to the statement, is already delivering measurable results.

Among the highlighted achievements are a steady decline in inflation now at 16.05% as of October stabilization of the naira, and a significant boost in foreign exchange reserves, which have risen to over $46 billion from the $32 billion inherited. The statement also pointed to renewed investor confidence, a thriving stock market, and increased activity in the oil, gas, and solid minerals sectors.

Additionally, the government’s education reforms have led to over 700,000 students enrolling in its new loan scheme, while passport processing times have been reduced to under a week.

Governor Uzodinma’s new role is seen as a pivotal move to consolidate support for the administration’s vision and ensure that the message of “Renewed Hope” resonates across Nigeria’s grassroots.
