Tinubu Hails Nigerian Descent Players After Seahawks Super Bowl Triumph

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated players of Nigerian descent following the Seattle Seahawks’ emphatic 29 13 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60 held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara California.

The President’s message was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga. Tinubu praised the players for bringing pride and honour to Nigeria through their outstanding performances on one of the world’s biggest sporting stages.

Tinubu specifically congratulated Jalen Oluwaseun Milroe the Seahawks quarterback Nick Emmanwori described as a defensive standout veteran linebacker Uchenna Nwosu linebacker Boye Maye and offensive lineman Olu Oluwatimi. He noted that the players played crucial roles in securing the Seahawks’ second Lombardi Trophy.

According to the President the achievements of the players of Nigerian descent are a source of immense national pride. He particularly commended Emmanwori Nwosu and Maye for proudly raising the Nigerian flag after the Super Bowl victory describing the gesture as a powerful symbol of their deep connection to their country of descent.

Tinubu said the act reaffirmed the enduring bond between Nigeria and its diaspora adding that their success continues to inspire millions of young Nigerians at home and abroad. The President also congratulated Michael Onwenu of the New England Patriots describing him as one of the most dominant offensive linemen in the league despite being on the losing side. He praised Onwenu’s professionalism and excellence noting that his performance remains worthy of recognition.

Tinubu stated that the accomplishments of the players affirm Nigeria’s global reputation for excellence across different fields including sports. He added that their success reflects the positive contributions Nigerians continue to make at the highest levels internationally.

The President wished all the players continued success more victories and greater achievements in their professional careers expressing confidence that they would remain worthy ambassadors of Nigeria wherever they compete.
