Tinubu Celebrates Afenifere Leader Seinde Arogbofa at 87

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Seinde Arogbofa on the occasion of his 87th birthday, praising his lifelong dedication to education, leadership, and progressive ideals in Nigeria.

In a statement marking the milestone, the President described Arogbofa as a man of integrity, consistency, and unwavering commitment to national development. He commended the elder statesman for his significant contributions to both the education sector and the sociopolitical landscape, particularly through his role in Afenifere.

Arogbofa, a respected educationist, served as a school principal and later rose to become the National President of the All Nigerian Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools. In these roles, he played a vital part in improving the standard of secondary education across Ondo State and beyond, earning recognition for his dedication to academic excellence and discipline.

Widely regarded as one of the last surviving Awoists, Arogbofa has maintained a principled stance throughout his career. His commitment to unity and solidarity within the Yoruba community has been a defining feature of his public life. As former Secretary General of Afenifere, he worked closely with Reuben Fasoranti, standing firm against internal divisions and promoting cohesion within the group.

Beyond his administrative and political roles, Arogbofa is also a prolific author. In his book Understanding Afenifere, he documents the history and evolution of the influential Yoruba organization, offering valuable insights into its ideology and struggles.

President Tinubu noted that Arogbofa was among the respected progressive leaders in the South West who supported his presidential ambition from the beginning. He expressed gratitude for the elder statesman’s guidance and prayed for continued good health, wisdom, and longevity so that the nation can continue to benefit from his experience.
