Theo Hernandez, the 27-year-old French left-back, has completed his transfer from AC Milan to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal on a three-year contract, both clubs confirmed on Thursday. The deal is reportedly valued at €25 million.

Hernandez’s departure from Milan follows a six-season tenure that began in 2019 when he joined from Real Madrid. During his time at the San Siro, he made 262 appearances, scoring 34 goals and providing 45 assists. His contributions were instrumental in Milan securing the Serie A title in the 2021-22 season and the Supercoppa Italiana in January.

The move to Al-Hilal had been anticipated after Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri announced that Hernandez would not be part of the squad for the upcoming season. At Al-Hilal, Hernandez will reunite with former Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi, who took over the Saudi club in early June.

Hernandez’s transfer to Al-Hilal underscores the growing appeal of the Saudi Pro League, which has attracted several high-profile players in recent years. His move also marks a significant shift in his career, as he transitions from European football to the Middle East.

AC Milan expressed gratitude towards Hernandez for his contributions over the past six years, stating, “The Club would like to thank Theo for these six years together and wishes him all the best for his future personal and professional endeavours.”

Hernandez’s departure from Milan concludes a notable chapter in his career, characterized by significant achievements and contributions to the team’s successes.
