Taylor Guitars has expanded its partnership with renowned musician Jacob Collier by introducing two new 5-string guitar models: the Jacob Collier Academy 22e 5-String and the Jacob Collier GS Mini 5-String. These guitars are designed to make Collier’s innovative D-A-E-A-D tuning system more accessible to a wider audience.
The Academy 22e 5-String features a solid walnut top and layered walnut back and sides, providing a warm and balanced tone. Its compact Grand Concert body enhances playability, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced musicians. It is equipped with Fishman Sonitone GT2 electronics and comes with a gig bag for easy transport.
In contrast, the GS Mini 5-String has a torrefied Sitka spruce top and layered sapele back and sides, producing a clear and balanced sound. This compact model is perfect for travel and intimate settings. It also utilizes Collier’s signature D-A-E-A-D tuning and comes with a gig bag for portability.
Both models are intended to encourage musicians to explore new sonic possibilities through Collier’s unique tuning system. The Academy 22e 5-String is priced at $999, while the GS Mini 5-String retails for $699. They are currently available for order, with limited quantities expected to arrive before the holiday season.
Through these offerings, Taylor Guitars continues to reflect its commitment to innovation, quality, and creativity in the music industry, ensuring unique musical experiences are accessible to a broader range of players.
