Former Sokoto State Governor and current Senator Aminu Tambuwal has voiced strong optimism about the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reclaiming power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections. He made this bold prediction on Monday during the launch of a Ramadan package distribution initiative aimed at easing economic burdens for over 30,000 households across Sokoto State.
Tambuwal highlighted the significance of the relief effort, which complements broader food assistance programs spearheaded by PDP lawmakers at both state and federal levels. “We must recognize the grace of Allah for allowing us to witness another Ramadan, despite the many lives lost,” he said, adding a prayer for health and longevity to celebrate future holy months. The initiative underscores the party’s commitment to supporting citizens amid challenging times, particularly during Ramadan.
The senator praised the PDP leadership in Sokoto for their steadfast efforts in maintaining party unity and strength. He asserted that the PDP is poised for a comeback, claiming that its victory in the previous election was “forcefully stolen.” With reorganization and strategic planning underway, Tambuwal confidently declared, “By the grace of Allah, what was taken from us will be returned in 2027.”
Echoing this sentiment, Sokoto PDP Chairman Bello Goronyo expressed gratitude to party members for their unwavering loyalty. He took a swipe at the APC’s governance, arguing that the current hardships plaguing Nigerians were absent under PDP rule. Goronyo rallied the people of Sokoto and the nation to gear up for a “liberation” from the present administration in 2027, framing the upcoming elections as a pivotal moment for change.
As the PDP ramps up its efforts in Sokoto and beyond, Tambuwal’s words signal a renewed push to challenge the APC’s dominance. With tangible support like the Ramadan aid initiative and a united front, the party aims to turn its promises into electoral success in the years ahead.
