Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has confirmed he is open to joining any club after mutually terminating his contract with South African side Chippa United, ending a four-year stint that elevated his profile.

The 29-year-old shot to prominence following standout performances at AFCON 2023 and the 2025 tournament, where his penalty-saving heroics cemented his status as one of Nigeria’s top goalkeepers.

Speaking on Sports Nights Amplified with Andile Ncube, Nwabali emphasized his focus on finding the right sporting project rather than rushing into a move. “I can play anywhere I want to play; there is no restriction. I am open to any club, local or international. Football deals with happiness, and my happiness comes first,” he said.

Nwabali has been linked with several clubs, including South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs, Morocco’s Raja Club Athletic, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ettifaq, a potential move to the Rwandan league, and English Championship side Queens Park Rangers, which would mark his first step into European football. However, he clarified that none of these links have yet turned into formal talks.

For now, Nwabali remains one of Africa’s most high-profile free agents, weighing his options carefully before making his next move.
