In a reconciliatory gesture, Lamido invited former PDP members who defected to the APC to return to their roots, noting that many had experienced persecution and mistreatment in their adopted party. He stressed that rejoining the PDP, the platform that originally elevated them in Nigerian politics, would be a dignified choice. Specifically, he called out prominent figures such as Rotimi Amaechi, Nasir El-Rufai, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Aliyu Wamakko, urging them to under the PDP banner to “liberate Nigeria from the APC atrocity.”
