The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, and the Chairman of the Anambra State Council of Traditional Rulers, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, have called on Ndigbo to prioritise investing in their homeland to accelerate development in the South East.

They made the call during the groundbreaking ceremony of Raphmaths Seaview Estate in Amansea, Awka, where they encouraged greater economic commitment to the region. Soludo, represented by his deputy, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, assured investors that his administration is tackling land grabbing and creating a secure environment for genuine developers.

He praised the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Raphmaths Estates, Chief Raphael Ojiribe, for believing in Anambra and the South East. According to him, the state government is committed to supporting investors who choose to develop their home region.

“It is regrettable that many Igbo develop other parts of the country while neglecting their own states,” he said, urging residents to take advantage of available opportunities as land in Awka and other parts of the state becomes increasingly scarce.

In his remarks, Igwe Iweka commended Ojiribe’s integrity and professionalism, describing him as a peace loving and honest developer worthy of emulation. He stressed that while it is acceptable for Ndigbo to invest outside the region, priority should be given to investments at home.

Ojiribe, in his address, described the project as more than a real estate venture, calling it a movement to redefine development standards in the South East. He said the estate would offer structured layouts, modern homes, and secure communities that meet global standards.

Dignitaries at the event included members of the House of Representatives, traditional rulers, and senior government officials.
