Governor Chukwuma Soludo has formally committed his second term in office to God, describing both his initial election and re election as divinely ordained. He made this declaration on Sunday during a thanksgiving service held at St Patrick’s Cathedral Awka.

Speaking at the event, Soludo said the gathering was an opportunity to dedicate the next four years of his administration to God, while expressing deep gratitude for the privilege to serve the people of Anambra State. He noted that his emergence as governor came at the right time, emphasizing that it was aligned with divine purpose.

“Today, we are here to thank God for a successful inauguration and to hand over the entire second tenure to God,” the governor stated, reaffirming his belief in divine guidance for governance.

Reflecting on his first term, Soludo highlighted achievements recorded over the past four years and reiterated his administration’s commitment to building on existing progress. Drawing inspiration from biblical teachings, including the story of Jesus and Lazarus, he stressed that God’s timing is always perfect and assured that his government would continue to rely on faith and wisdom in decision making.

The governor also revealed that during his campaign, his team consistently prayed for the capacity to exceed expectations and leave the state better than they met it. He expressed optimism that Anambra would witness greater development in areas such as infrastructure, economic growth, and public service delivery in the coming years.

Soludo appreciated stakeholders including the Federal Government of Nigeria, development partners, religious institutions, traditional rulers, and youths for their support. He called for sustained collaboration to ensure continued progress.

Earlier, Michael Francis Crotty commended the visible developments achieved during Soludo’s first term, encouraging continued commitment to good governance.
