Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, has announced a free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination registration scheme for one thousand five hundred students from the district.
The initiative follows the nationwide commencement of the 2026 UTME registration exercise and is aimed at supporting students who may face financial barriers to higher education.
The senator made the announcement in a statement shared on Wednesday through his official X page. According to him, the programme is inspired by his strong belief that education remains the foundation for sustainable development and that no qualified student should be prevented from pursuing tertiary education due to lack of funds.
The free registration scheme will cover students from Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Ika North East, Ika South, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Oshimili North, Oshimili South and Ukwuani local government areas of Delta State. Senator Nwoko described the initiative as part of his broader commitment to human capital development and youth empowerment within the district.
He explained that eligible applicants must be sixteen years old or above by 30th September 2026. Applicants are also required to generate their JAMB profile code using their National Identification Number. Necessary details include the applicant full name, JAMB profile code and council ward to ensure proper documentation and verification.
The deadline for the registration has been fixed for Sunday 15th February 2026. Interested candidates are expected to complete their application through the designated online portal provided by the senator.
Reaffirming his dedication to the future of young people in Delta North, Senator Nwoko stated that he remains committed to advancing policies and programmes that improve access to education, empower youths and strengthen the social and economic prospects of the region.
The announcement comes as JAMB begins registration for the 2026 UTME nationwide, with registration scheduled to run from late January to late February, while Direct Entry registration will commence in March.
