Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has firmly stated that she has no intention of returning to the All Progressives Congress (APC), despite pressure from various quarters, including individuals linked to the Presidency.

In an interview, she emphasized that joining the APC is not an option for her, underscoring that her political decisions are guided by principles rather than convenience or pressure.

Akpoti-Uduaghan highlighted her commitment to maintaining independence and integrity in politics, valuing these over aligning with the ruling party for personal or political gain.

She also revealed that during her suspension, many Senate colleagues privately supported her but were afraid to show public solidarity due to fear of political persecution. This isolation affected not only her but also contractors working on constituency projects, who faced delays and obstacles caused by political interference.

Speaking at the commissioning of a new market in Okene, she described her suspension as illegal and a reflection of how fear and intimidation influence political behavior. Despite the challenges, she expressed understanding of her colleagues’ cautious public stance and remained resilient in the face of adversity.
