Scotland has been confirmed as a replacement for Bangladesh in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup after Bangladesh declined to participate due to political tensions linked to hosting arrangements in India.

Cricket authorities said the decision followed Bangladesh’s refusal to travel, citing security and diplomatic concerns that could not be resolved within the tournament timeline.

The International Cricket Council moved swiftly to avoid disruption to the competition, selecting Scotland based on qualification rankings and preparedness.

Officials emphasized that the change was made to preserve the integrity of the tournament and ensure smooth scheduling.
