Rashford Settling at Barcelona as Club Considers Permanent Move

Marcus Rashford is enjoying his loan at Barcelona and could join the club permanently next summer if they use a £26 million option to buy him.

He moved to Barcelona on a season-long loan from Manchester United in July. Before that, he spent time on loan at Aston Villa, where the buy clause was set at £40 million. Villa did not trigger their option, with financial rules said to be a factor. Reports in Spain now say Barcelona aim to sign Rashford for good.

Rashford has adapted well in Spain. He has scored six goals and made seven assists in 16 appearances. The forward also seems happy off the pitch. Team-mate Ronald Araujo posted a photo with Rashford and wrote: “Barbecue, family and friends.” Rashford replied with a heart emoji.

Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, has spoken about the club’s plans. He said: “If we are doing well and there are no surprises, I don’t think it’s necessary. We know exactly where we can improve and the difficulties we face. Last season, we also went through some difficult moments, and we were able to overcome them.”

Manager Hansi Flick has praised Rashford’s work, calling him a key player who can perform at this level. If Barcelona’s leaders agree, they may try to make the loan move permanent when the transfer window opens.
