President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to visit Borno State on Saturday, December 20, 2025, to inaugurate important development projects and attend a high-profile wedding ceremony in Maiduguri.
According to the reports, this visit is part of the President’s engagements across selected states during the yuletide season.
In Maiduguri, Tinubu will officially open projects in the aviation, transport, and education sectors, which have been carried out by both the Borno State Government and the Federal Government.
The President’s itinerary includes inaugurating new aviation facilities at the General Muhammadu Buhari International Airport.
These facilities feature an extension and a VIP wing designed to enhance air transport operations in the state. This development is expected to strengthen aviation services in the North-East region, especially as security conditions improve.
Following this, Tinubu will move to Ramat Square to inaugurate newly acquired electric buses, cars, and tricycles. These vehicles aim to improve urban transportation and support livelihood empowerment initiatives.
In the education sector, the President will inaugurate a newly built primary and secondary school in Maiduguri, named in his honor.
This project is part of the state government’s broader efforts to improve educational infrastructure and increase school enrollment.
Later, Tinubu will attend the Nikkah and marriage ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno State Governor Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, and Hadiza Kam Salem.
After completing his activities in Maiduguri, the President will travel to Bauchi State to offer condolences to the state government and the family of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, a prominent Islamic cleric and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, who passed away on November 27.
Following this, Tinubu will head to Lagos to spend the end-of-year holidays.
