President Tinubu Congratulates NIPR on Global Public Relations Award

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) on its emergence as the 2025 Global Public Relations Association. The award was announced at the World Public Relations and Communication Award in Lisbon, Portugal, on February 19, 2026.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu commended the leadership of NIPR, including its Governing Council President and Chairman, Dr Ike Neliaku, and the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris. He described the recognition as “a resounding endorsement of Nigeria’s growing influence and professionalism in the global public relations and strategic communications ecosystem.”

The selection process reportedly attracted 89 entries from 19 countries, reflecting the institute’s commitment to excellence, ethical communication, and innovation. Tinubu noted that the award highlights Nigeria’s capacity to set benchmarks in public trust-building and national reputation management.

He expressed confidence that NIPR would continue to advance integrity, innovation, and professionalism in public relations practice and reaffirmed his administration’s support for institutions that enhance Nigeria’s global image through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
