Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, famously known as Portable, has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with being compared to fellow artist Asake regarding their facial tattoos. The comparison arose after Asake unveiled his new tattoos featuring dollar signs and the word “Believe” on Instagram, which led to a buzz on social media.

While some commentators saw similarities between the two artists due to their visible tattoos, Portable was quick to dismiss these connections. In a video he posted on his social media, Portable vehemently stated, “Don’t compare me to Asake. I don’t look like Asake. I look like Lil Wayne. Stop comparing me to an overrated artiste,” indicating his style is more akin to the American rapper Lil Wayne.

Streaming Options: George Clooney, Tom Cruise, Zac Brown Band, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Metroid Prime 4

This response from Portable highlights his frustration with being likened to Asake, asserting his unique identity and style in the music scene. His reference to Lil Wayne, known for his extensive facial tattoos, suggests Portable sees his own aesthetic as part of a different, perhaps more international, lineage of hip-hop culture.
