Police operatives attached to the Assakio Division of the Nasarawa State Police Command, in collaboration with local vigilantes, have arrested six suspected kidnappers and rescued three abducted victims during a coordinated operation in Lafia Local Government Area of the state.

The operation, which targeted kidnappers’ hideouts in Angara and Fadaman Bauna villages within the Lafia East Development Area, led to the successful rescue of two females and one male. The victims were rescued unhurt and have since been reunited with their families.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Nasarawa State, Ramhan Nansel, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Friday in Lafia, the state capital. According to him, the operation followed a formal complaint lodged on January 7, 2026, by residents of Angara village.

Nansel explained that suspected kidnappers had invaded the community and abducted two women, abandoning an infant during the attack. He added that the same group later kidnapped a male victim in the village, heightening fear and tension among residents.
