Peter Okoye, one half of the renowned music duo P-Square, has addressed recent claims by his twin brother Paul regarding the ownership of their latest track, “Winning.” In a series of posts, Peter clarified his contributions to the song, highlighting his collaborative efforts with Ghanaian producer Vampire and songwriter Calypso.
Peter disputed Paul’s allegations, referencing their established creative process and asserting that Paul had previously removed his (Peter’s) vocals from joint projects. Explaining his recent break from the music scene, Peter shared that he needed time to recharge creatively, ultimately leading to his return with “Winning.”
On social media platform X, Peter emphasized his commitment to teamwork, saying, “I always give people their due credit for their contributions to my projects.” He explained how he discovered Vampire in June 2022, bringing him to Lagos to collaborate on potential tracks for P-Square’s upcoming album, including “Winning” and other titles.
Peter’s response underscores his dedication to collaboration, transparency, and giving credit where it’s due, while also highlighting the complexities of working alongside family in the music industry.
