Pep Guardiola has firmly stated that he plans to remain Manchester City manager next season, dismissing rumors about his potential departure as “not on the table right now.”

Despite reports suggesting the club is preparing contingency plans with Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca as a possible replacement, Guardiola, who will have completed 10 years at the Etihad Stadium by next summer and is contracted until the end of the 2026-27 season, has given no indication of leaving early.

At a recent news conference, Guardiola acknowledged that questions about his future arise every season but emphasized his happiness and excitement about the team’s development. He said, “I have 18 months left and I am so delighted and happy and excited about the development of the team and being there.”

He also noted that while he won’t be at the club forever, there are currently no discussions about his departure. Guardiola highlighted the club’s preparedness for all eventualities but made clear that his exit is not being considered at this time.

Looking ahead, Guardiola remains focused on upcoming matches, including the game against West Ham, where City have the chance to temporarily move to the top of the Premier League table. Despite some key players being sidelined or on international duty, Guardiola expressed confidence in his squad’s readiness for the challenge.
