After 30 years of a relationship filled with love and partnership, Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola, at the age of 53, has reportedly separated from his wife, Cristina Serra. Their marriage, which commenced with an intimate ceremony near Barcelona in 2014, has now come to an end.

According to Spanish media outlet Sport, the couple has been living apart for over five years, a situation that arose after Serra moved back to Barcelona in 2019 to manage their family’s fashion business, Serra Claret, taking their youngest daughter, Valentina, then 17, with her. Guardiola remained in Manchester to continue his work with Manchester City.

Guardiola and Serra’s journey began in 1994 when they met, and together they have three children: Maria (24), Marius (22), and Valentina. Despite living in different countries, they maintained a close relationship, often seen together at public events. In June 2023, Serra was present to support Guardiola at the Champions League final in Istanbul, where Manchester City clinched a historic Treble. They were also spotted together at Wimbledon in July of the same year, indicating their strong bond despite the physical distance.

The decision to separate was reportedly made in December, with only a select few from their inner circle initially aware of this development. They have requested privacy concerning further details of their separation.

Guardiola has publicly lauded Serra, especially for her fashion sense, which has influenced his own style on the touchline, where he’s known for wearing brands stocked by Serra Claret. In January 2024, he shared his appreciation, saying, “My wife is the best in the world at many things, especially fashion,” showcasing the deep respect and admiration he has for her.
