PDP Revives Delta State With Inauguration of Caretaker Committee

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP made a strong comeback in Delta State on Thursday 5th February 2025 with the inauguration of its Caretaker Committee led by Prof Sylvester Monye from Onicha Ugbo. The event held at the OPAL Event Centre in Asaba attracted a massive crowd far beyond expectations. Over 2000 people packed the hall just thirty minutes into the program while others stood outside showing renewed loyalty to the party.

The ceremony began with a spontaneous call and response song led by Johnbull from Ughelli South Ughelli North and Udu Federal Constituency that energized the attendees. Veteran leaders including Elder Emma Ogidi and Chief Ejiofor Onyia reminded the audience of the party’s enduring legacy and denounced those who defected to APC as ungrateful opportunists. Dr Esther Uduehi and Chief Clement Ofuani further inspired the crowd emphasizing PDP’s readiness to reclaim political control in Delta State.

Prof Sylvester Monye outlined the mission of the Caretaker Committee to restore internal democracy, hold free and fair elections for all party posts and ensure no candidates are imposed. He promised that the people will truly own the party and that this foundation will drive PDP to victory in 2027.

The Caretaker Committee members sworn in include Prof Sylvester Monye Ujor Ucheonny Comdr Johnbull Aghogho Kenairu Jackson Agbor Onajega Mike Chief Ekiyor Charles Hon Mrs Vero Egbuna Chukwunonso Alex Ndah and Walter Uguoye. The event sent a clear message that PDP is alive vibrant and determined to reclaim its dominance in Delta State ahead of the 2027 elections.
