A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party led by Tanimu Turaki has advised party members to disregard the reported dissolution of elected executive committees in Ogun State, Ekiti State and Ondo State.

The group made this known in a statement released on Saturday in Abuja by the faction’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong.

According to Ememobong, the announcement dissolving the state executive committees is illegal and undermines ongoing reconciliation efforts within the party.

“We have seen a purported announcement of the dissolution of the elected state executive committees in Ogun, Ekiti and Ondo states,” the statement said.

He added that the decision is unwarranted and could further deepen divisions within the party at both the state and national levels.

“This dissolution which is illegal and unwarranted is an affront to the proposed reconciliation for which talks are underway. This further attempt to deepen divisions at the state and other levels is null void and of no effect whatsoever,” he stated.

Ememobong therefore urged party members and officials across the affected states to ignore the notice and continue performing their legitimate duties.

He specifically called on party officers at the state, local government and ward levels to remain committed to their responsibilities while disregarding the announcement.

According to him, the leadership’s current push for peace and reconciliation should be understood within the broader objective of strengthening the party ahead of upcoming elections.

He stressed that efforts to ilise the party are aimed at ensuring its survival and unity as it prepares for future electoral contests across the country.

The development highlights ongoing internal disagreements within the Peoples Democratic Party as leaders work to resolve disputes and reposition the party politically.
