Senator Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is actively courting Governor Alex Otti of Abia State to join the PDP as a platform for his second-term governorship bid.

Speaking in Umuahia, Wabara praised Governor Otti’s administration for its ambitious 25-year development plan and described him as a valuable asset for any political party.

Wabara assured that the PDP would not hesitate to field Otti as its governorship candidate if he decides to defect, emphasizing that the governor’s impressive performance and development record would significantly boost his chances in the 2027 elections.

Highlighting his role as an elder statesman and stakeholder in Abia politics, Wabara stressed the importance of recognizing good governance beyond party lines. “Abians are now excited to visit home to see things for themselves. Good governance should not be sacrificed on the altar of partisan politics,” he said.

Wabara noted that Otti’s defection to the PDP would strengthen the party’s position and restore the South East as a major political force in Nigeria, reaffirming the region’s status as a traditional PDP stronghold.

In addition to political endorsements, Wabara lauded Otti’s recent launch of the 25-year Abia Development Plan, describing it as a strategic roadmap for a “New and Greater Abia.” He also highlighted the governor’s achievements in road infrastructure, healthcare, education, industry, and security as evidence of his effective leadership.
