The foreign ministers of Pakistan and Bangladesh met today in a show of strengthened diplomatic engagement, pledging to deepen cooperation across a range of political, economic and cultural areas. The high level talks reflect growing interest in improving relations between the two South Asian neighbours after periods of limited interaction in recent years.

During the meeting the two leaders discussed bolstering trade and investment ties with an emphasis on enhancing economic partnerships that could benefit both economies. They also addressed regional security issues, labour and migration policies and opportunities to collaborate in multilateral forums.

Pakistan’s foreign minister highlighted shared cultural and historical links and underscored the importance of mutual respect and partnership in navigating contemporary challenges. The Bangladeshi foreign minister echoed these sentiments and said both countries have much to gain from constructive engagement in trade, education and technology exchanges.
