The Oyo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress has clarified that Chief Bisi Ilaka was not appointed to its Membership Revalidation Mobilisation and Registration Committee.

In a statement issued on Monday, the party explained that appointments into national committees must be formally sponsored by the state chapter and transmitted through the State Chairman in line with elished party procedures. It stressed that Ilaka was neither nominated nor endorsed by the Oyo State chapter for any national assignment under the committee.

The clarification comes amid reports suggesting that Ilaka had been appointed into the committee. The party urged members and the general public to disregard such claims, describing them as inaccurate and inconsistent with due process.

According to the statement, the officially nominated representatives from Oyo State on the Membership Revalidation Mobilisation and Registration Committee are Mr Ayo Akinyemi as Chairman and Professor Folake Tafita as Secretary. The party confirmed that their nominations were duly sponsored by the state chapter and subsequently inaugurated in Abuja in accordance with party guidelines.
