Over 10 Ships Await Discharge at Lagos Ports Amid High Cargo Traffic

No fewer than 10 ships have arrived at the Lekki, Tincan, and Apapa ports in Lagos, waiting to discharge bulk urea, general cargo, containers, aviation fuel, diesel, and crude oil, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has reported.

The NPA made the disclosure in its latest publication, Shipping Position, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos.

According to the report, 38 additional ships carrying petroleum products, food items, and other goods are expected to arrive at Apapa, Lekki, and Tin Can Island ports between February 20 and February 28. The incoming vessels are said to be transporting buckwheat, bulk beans, crude oil, empty containers, bulk urea, aviation fuel, blended stock, bulk clinker, diesel, bulk gas, and containers of various other goods.

NAN also noted that 17 ships are currently at the ports discharging cargo, including containers, crude oil, bulk wheat, general cargo, bulk sugar, diesel, bulk urea, and cargo trucks.

The NPA continues to monitor vessel arrivals and port operations to ensure efficient handling of cargo and smooth port management.
