Victor Osimhen has offered reassurance to fans following his early exit from Nigeria’s World Cup playoff clash against DR Congo, confirming that his injury is not as severe as initially feared.

The Galatasaray forward sustained a hamstring issue during Sunday’s high-stakes encounter, forcing him off the pitch in the second half. His substitution proved costly, as Nigeria struggled to maintain momentum and eventually lost 4–3 in a penalty shootout after a 1–1 draw in extra time.

Speaking to Turkish outlet A Spor at Istanbul Airport after returning from international duty, Osimhen stated, “My injury is not very serious,” according to Habersarikirmizi. The 26-year-old is now focused on regaining fitness ahead of Galatasaray’s upcoming Turkish Super Lig match against Gençlerbirliği on Saturday.

Osimhen joined the reigning Turkish champions from Napoli during the summer transfer window and has quickly become a key figure in their attacking setup. His potential return this weekend will be a boost for Galatasaray as they continue their domestic campaign.
