The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), has commended President Bola Tinubu for reforms and modernization efforts in Nigeria’s migration management system.
Oba Ogunwusi made the remarks during a visit to the headquarters of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Abuja, where he went to renew his diplomatic passport. He praised the digitalization of the passport regime and the introduction of advanced technologies that have enhanced efficiency, border management, and service delivery within the agency.
The monarch also lauded the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Comptroller-General of NIS, Mrs Kemi Nanna Nandap, for their roles in implementing these transformative policies under the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
NIS Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, noted that the Ooni’s visit highlighted growing recognition of the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and modernize migration operations.
During the visit, Oba Ogunwusi was warmly received by Mrs Nandap and members of her management team. He expressed appreciation for the policies that have improved service delivery and border governance, emphasizing that the reforms reflect positively on Nigeria’s international standing.
“The first-class monarch used the opportunity to praise the President and Commander-in-Chief, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Comptroller-General on the transformative policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda being implemented at the Nigeria Immigration Service,” Akinlabi stated.
The Ooni’s commendation underscores the success of government-led modernization efforts in public institutions and signals broad approval for policies enhancing efficiency, security, and citizen-focused service delivery.
