ASABA – Immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has credited his sense of renewed energy and well-being to the leadership of his successor, Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, saying the current administration has brought peace and satisfaction to the people of the state.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Forum of Labour Veterans and Associates in Asaba on Wednesday, Okowa expressed appreciation for Oborevwori’s developmental initiatives across Delta State. He stated, “If you look at me, I appear to be growing younger, why? Because I have peace and that is the truth. I have peace, and I thank God for that. The governor himself is giving me peace, I am staying in my space and I am not troubled by things.”
Okowa highlighted that while he had supported Oborevwori’s election bid, the Governor’s performance in office was entirely dependent on his own decisions. He praised ongoing projects, including flyovers in Warri and Agbor, and erosion control efforts, noting that many other major initiatives are in progress but less visible to the public.
The former governor also commended the state government for maintaining financial stability, saying, “I am not getting complaints about salaries not being paid. Even pensions are being paid.” Okowa concluded that Governor Oborevwori has not disappointed him, and his policies continue to benefit Delta residents.
