Malcolm LaVergne, the executor of Simpson’s estate, confirmed the claim but noted the estate’s total assets range between $500,000 and $1 million, implying that the payout will represent only a fraction of the demanded amount. He indicated that the payment would be voluntary and not the entire $58 million along with interest, expressing hope to gather enough funds to cover the claim.
Fred Goldman’s attorney, Michaelle Rafferty, acknowledged the acceptance of the claim as a positive step but underlined that it does not equate to actual payment. She highlighted the family’s intention to monitor the probate proceedings closely.
