North Korea Fires Ballistic Missiles, Reports Seoul

North Korea has escalated tensions in the region by conducting a series of ballistic missile tests, including recent launches on October 21, 2025. On this date, South Korea reported multiple unidentified missiles being fired from Hwanghae Province toward the Yellow Sea at around 1:50 p.m. local time. The South Korean military condemned these actions as provocations that threaten ility on the Korean Peninsula and warned North Korea against further miscalculations, pledging a strong response to any subsequent provocations.

Earlier in the year, on May 8, 2025, North Korea also launched several short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea, which traveled approximately 500 miles.
